People are often speaking about money. So I found some information for you for this purpose looking on it from a different angle.

Cost of being overweight or obese:

direct:
(a person WITH insurance)

- medical spending (overweight): +14.5% or about $247 per year (1987 data) or $1.244 per year (2002 data)

- medical spending (obese): +37.4% or about $730 (1987 data) or $3.676 per year (2002 data)

- food expenses increased 31,1%

Costs increase almost exponentially with age
50% increase in fat content in the food sold today

indirect:

- lost productivity (get tired fast, less energy) - about 20 days per year

- lower quality of life

- years of life lost (due to weight related illnesses)

- increases the likelihood of:

- type 2 diabetes (majority are obesity-related)

- cardiovascular diseases (CHD, MI, and stroke)

- several types of cancer

- gallbladder disease

- sleep apnea

- osteoarthritis

- perhaps others (e.g., Alzheimer's, depression, back pain)

So think about it. You know you get more and more lazy with age. Also you know that when you get used to something with age you will just say "i have been doing this last 20 years, i am not going to change". Also with age you care less and less about what other people think.

I know you will say "i still have a lot of time" but as a matter of fact you do not, because it requires to change your eating and living habits and also you are setting example for your children, family and friends!

So starting with this article, i hope you will make the decision to be thin and healthy and happy.

And remember! do not do diet for a short period then stop, then start. This only leads to disappointment. Only long term changes work.
