People seem to get confused about motivation. According to Webster's Online Dictionary motivation is:
"The psychological feature that arouses an organism to action"
Therefore, this is what you have to do:
1) Be calm and cool. Honest with yourself. Sit down and really honestly ask yourself WHY you want to lose weight. You are done with this only when you have that really true reason in your hands.
An good example for this could be: I am tired of feeling heavy, I want to feel good about myself, because I don't like what I see in the mirror. I want to be able to go to the beach and not feel ashamed. Etc.
A wrong way of thinking is: I want to lose weight because my friends / family told me so. I want to lose weight because the TV / magazine told me I am fat. These kind of reasons will just not work.
2) Now, visualize WHAT exactly you will get once you reach your goal(s). Do your best at this. Try to even smell your visualization. Just really feel and imagine WHAT you will get.
Again, an example could be getting a lover you always wanted or simple things like finally being able to climb those stairs without stopping for a break or, as mentioned before, walking proudly at the beach or the street feeling great about yourself.
Whichever the case, you have to visualize yourself already there so you can feel how great it feels to be there.
Once you have established this honest link with yourself and clarified with your whole being WHY and WHAT you have to do - you have given birth to your motivation.
